Kamienica jest powojenną rekonstrukcją zniszczonej w 1942 r. budowli wybudowanej w 1758 r. przez ówczesnego właściciela Johanna Michaela Crolla. W budynku znajdował się skład kupiecki. W 1842 r. posesję kupił Johann Siegmund Mann (dziadek autora <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/iks_berto/28371895185/">"Buddenbrooków"</a> Thomasa Manna). W 1891 r. kamienica została kupiona przez miasto. Od 1993 r. działa tu Centrum Henryka i Tomasza Mannów.

The house if a post-war reconstruction of a 1758 building built by the then owner Johann Michael Croll. In the building there was a trading warehouse. In 1842 the property was bought by Johann Siegmund Mann (grandfather of Thomas Mann, the author of the <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/iks_berto/28371895185/">"Buddenbrooks"</a>). In 1891 the house was bought by the city. Since 1993 the Heinrich and Thomas Mann Center has been seated here.
