St. Bavo’s Cathedral houses an impressive number of art treasures. One work stands out above the rest: the world-famous Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, or Ghent Altarpiece, by van Eyck around 1432.

The Ghent Altarpiece lives here and is worthy of the longest pilgrimage. The van Eyck bros knew what they were doing and the very informative and detailed audio guide will help properly explain it.

Nice black and white marble altar, astonishing pulpit and red brick walls. Must see: Van Eyck's Mystic Lamb altarpiece. 4€ (audioguide in many languages included: be fresh to hear all the comments!)
